FANGORIA Teams Up with the 2015 Mile High Horror Film Festival for a 30th Anniversary Screening of RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD... on VHS! Linnea Quigley in Attendance!
In an exciting piece of news for Videovores everywhere, long-running fright source Fangoria has recently announced that they are teaming up with the 2015 Mile High Horror Film Festival for a 30th Anniversary screening of Dan O’Bannon’s punk rock zombie comedy classic (and personal LM favorite!) Return of the Living Dead… on almighty VHS! And to top it all off, cult actress Linnea Quigley AKA Trash will be live in the flesh and ready to party with a groovy Q&A to liven up the crowd after the film!
Which VHS version will be screened was not mentioned in the original press release, but us analog aficionados have to assume it will be screened from the glorious Thorn EMI HBO Video release as it contains an original cut of the film that features the fully intact soundtrack, the original Tarman voiceover and the original “Send more cops” line that were sadly lost in the widely released DVD version from MGM Entertainment.

The event will be held at the Alamo Drafthouse in Littleton, Colorado from October 1st to the 4th, and the ROLTD screening will be a one-night-only event. Which night it will be screening isn’t yet announced, but be sure to stay tuned to Fangoria for those details and specifics on a Limited Edition Exclusive poster they’ll be releasing for the screening. I just hope it’s Tarman taking a bite out of a VHS with a thought bubble reading “MORE TAPES!”. Now that would totally rule. And it should glow in the dark. YES.
